How do you train a nonprofit watchdog?
That’s the key question posed at npjforum.com, a new website that promotes dialogue between nonprofit journalists and aims to shed light on the challenges of their growing industry.
The site’s users may ask questions, share ideas and post news items on strategies for nonprofit sustainability and editorial improvement.
“Certainly, there are other handy resources for aspiring nonprofit news leaders. Hopefully this site will create a real-time conversation that will build upon them,” said Jim Malewitz, assistant to the executive director at IowaWatch.org.
Malewitz, who is also a master’s student at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication, created the site as part of his research in nonprofit journalism.
Those who wish to contribute to the site should email Malewitz at firstname.lastname@example.org for sign-in instructions.
