Kenyan Purse & Fertility Figurines

IowaWatch board member Bob Walker and his wife, Kristy, are inviting the public to a fundraiser and silent auction they will host at their home west of Iowa City to raise funds for the non-profit Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism.

The event will be on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Walker Homestead, 3913 James Ave. SW.

The event will include wine and cheese and wood-fired pizza catered by Provender. Live music will be performed by the oldies band, Twist ’n’ Shout.

The silent auction items range from original framed prints of work by a world-renowned photographer to international crafts, historic mementoes, meals and baked goods. All proceeds after expenses will benefit the Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism, which operates IowaWatch.

Advanced tickets are available at http://bit.ly/IaWEvent for $27.50. This price includes Eventbrite processing fees and a $5 donation to IowaWatch.

The Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism-IowaWatch is a 501(c)3 non-profit news organization dedicated to producing independent, non-partisan, explanatory and investigative reports on matters of public interest and furthering the education of young journalists in Iowa.
