IowaWatch was selected as one of two locations for a summer 2016 reporting fellowship through the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation, the educational foundation for the Society of Professional Journalists.

During the three-month fellowship, recipients will work on daily journalism tasks as well as a final in-depth, multimedia project on a selected topic.

The second newsroom chosen for the fellowship is Omaha Public Radio based in Omaha, Nebraska.

The application deadline is Jan. 15, 2016. Candidates will be notified in February.
