The Midwest Center for Investigative Reporting produces consistent high quality and nonpartisan journalism on agribusiness, but we need your help now to continue our work.

We are asking that you please consider making a contribution to us before the end of the year. Thanks to a generous grant from the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation, every dollar you give will be matched by a dollar from the Foundation.

A gift of $25, $50, $100 or even more will support us in our mission to provide the in-depth work you’ve come to expect.

Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to bring you in-depth content on the agribusiness issues that impact your lives.  And we do it with a small, dedicated staff that digs for documents and interviews to go beyond opinion and rhetoric to deliver the facts.

In February, we examined how the biggest planned biotech launch in Monsanto’s history stirred up pesticide concerns (see more here).

In May, we disclosed the local and national tax breaks that the nation’s largest food and fuel companies receive (see more here).

In July, we looked at how companies say they are using GMOs to fight climate change (see more here).

We’ve also brought you innovative tools to explore these issues

Our farm bill lobbying database allowed you in-depth access to the companies who lobbied on one of the most expensive government subsidized insurance products.

Our GMO database gives you quick and easy access to research companies that petitioned the government for GMO approvals.

Next month, we are releasing a rarely seen, behind-the-doors look at migrant worker camps.

With your help, 2016 will be our most productive year ever.

Thank you for considering a donation and please don’t forget to send us tips or story ideas for our coverage!
